On the Blog in 2016

For weeks now I've been thinking through what The Purposeful Wife should look like in 2016. My intention and hope as I've planned content is that this site will serve you well in the coming year. I hope that you will be encouraged and challenged to faithfulness and new successes as believing wives, mothers, and home keepers.

With that in mind, you will likely see many posts similar to past content- what I'm currently learning and working through in my own life, helpful hacks I've found, and all of the books I'm reading. Because yay books!

Additionally, I hope to {Lord willing} add a few new regular features. I'll be trying them on for size, and if they don't fit we can always drop them.

Every Monday I'll be centering my thoughts on a quote from some great believer of days past- think along the lines of C.S. Lewis, Elisabeth Elliot, Charles Spurgeon, etc. We can use all of the inspiration we can get as wives and mothers in the trenches of the mundane day-to-day, and I hope this will be a good start to each week.

Like last year, I've landed on one word that I would like to shape my whole year- an area in which I desperately need to grow in grace {more on that coming Friday}. Unlike last year, I'd like to write at least one post each month centered on this word- to help me to keep it in mind, and to push me forward in my endeavor after it.

Also, since reading Carrie Ward's book Together: Growing Appetites for God (one of my favorite reads in 2015), I've had a real desire to read just plain Scripture as much as possible to my children. Reading through our family's daily advent verses this December further cemented that desire. So I've been working behind the scenes to create a tool that will hopefully help us all in regularly reading the Bible to our little people. This is something I am really passionate about and can't wait to share with you! Be on the lookout over the next couple of days.

All of this depends on me being able to balance and order my personal life properly- I want to be writing here consistently and well, but I've got to be faithful on the home front first. I appreciate your prayers to that end for me!

Thank you for sticking around and reading <3. I am always open to your feedback, so if there is a kind of post you'd like to see more of around here, or a specific topic you'd like for me to tackle, please write a comment or shoot me an email.

Looking forward to good things in 2016!
