I'm working my way through Crystal Paine's new course, Makeover Your Evenings- 14 days of videos, reading, and projects designed to bring more order, rest, and productivity into your life. If you'd like to grab the course and work through it right along with me, you can do so here. Each weekday night I'll be posting my takeaway from the day's coursework. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it and how you are making over your own evenings!
The way we dress ourselves can completely change the way we feel about our day. When I spend my day in sweat pants and a hoody, I feel so gross! The ringing of the door bell causes mild panic. On the other hand, if I've put on my best- a flattering pair of jeans, a feminine blouse, and a cute pair of earrings, I can face my day with greater enthusiasm and confidence.
It doesn't have to take much time or effort. I am the queen of throwing my hair back in a messy ponytail and I rarely wear make-up. But dressing my best changes the way I feel and behave, for the better.
Day 8 of Makeover Your Evenings is all about dressing for the kind of days we want to have. Crystal challenges us to look through our closets and coordinate 6 outfits we love, then wear them over the next week, taking care to select and lay out our clothes the night before.
I've got to be honest with you; due to my postpartum body and the change of seasons, I have a whole two outfits that I feel semi-put together in at the moment. Fortunately for me, today is my birthday {30! Ugh!} and with the gift money I've received I will soon be going shopping and rectifying the situation.
I'm all about simplicity {you can see my summer maternity and winter postpartum capsule wardrobes here}, so I'll be only buying a few pieces that I love, fit great, and work well with the rest of my wardrobe. You don't have to spend a fortune to look a million bucks. High on my priority are loose, lightweight tops {very flattering on a mama body}. A solid color in pastel hue with a few pretty details on the neckline or sleeves, and I'm sold. Wish me luck!
Have you noticed any correlation between the way you dress and the kind of day you have? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
